The Designer’s Copywriter? What’s that all about?

I specialise in working on copy and marketing content for design businesses including web designers, digital/creative design agencies, architectural firms, interior designers, product designers, and other types of design companies.

I also collaborate closely with web design and marketing agencies who need copy and content for their clients. Copy and design work best in a symbiotic relationship which is carefully cultivated from the very beginning of a project.

What are your fees?

I charge by the project.

Surely I can find a cheaper writer?

Yes, you definitely can. But like with anything, you get what you pay for.

A cheaper writer doesn’t have the time to understand your business and your target audience. They need to rush through the writing process to complete more work for less money, just to earn a liveable income. The cheaper they are, the less they’ll care about accuracy, readability and lucrative sales results.

Experienced copywriters do care and have the time, knowledge and ability to make a huge impact on your sales. I’ve been copywriting for clients worldwide for over 10 years and know what it takes to help you achieve your marketing goals.

Go cheap by all means, but don’t expect the results you truly need.

What are your payment policies?

I require 50% of the agreed fee paid upfront before any work begins. The final part is paid upon delivery of the work. Payments to be made via bank transfer or Paypal within 14 days of an invoice being issued.

Have you worked with a client in my industry before?

Maybe. If you’re a designer or creative, then it’s very likely. I’ve written copy for architects, web designers, interior designers, product designers, and fashion stylists.

I’ve also written copy and content for businesses in a wide variety of other industries. My clients have included building contractors, invoice software developers, nutritionists, shipping companies, biomass boiler fitters, bookkeepers, and opticians.

It doesn’t really matter what industry you’re in. The principles of great copywriting are the same regardless of the subject matter. They apply to design firms just as much as they do to dentists or manufacturing companies. While details vary, the goals and results required are usually very similar, and that’s where great copywriting can help you.

How long will the copywriting take?

This is difficult to say with any certainty. It depends on the scale of your project and also my current workload when you first make contact. Once I know a little more about what you need and when you need it, then I’ll be able to give you a more accurate timeframe.

I’m outside the UK. Can we still work together?

Yes. I work with clients worldwide. I’ve written copy for businesses in Belgium, Israel, Poland, Cyprus, Denmark and the US, among others.

I’m proficient in both my native British-English and also in American-English.

How will we communicate?

I find email works well for most projects. Email ensures I get all the important facts and details which I can refer back to. It also helps to avoid missing any vital information that can get lost in phone/Skype communication.

Short phone calls (UK only) and Skype chats are for existing clients only and are used to discuss strategy etc.

What’s the best way to make initial contact with you?

Send me an email at: edward@edwardbeaman.com.

I’ll reply within one working day.
